BRIEF PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ROTARY VANE PUMPS – PO & PA SERIES
The PO and PA Series of rotary vane pumps are available in three different sizes as defined by housing size: small, medium and large. The pumps' advantages include self priming, quiet, free of pulsation, positive displacement, and have a long service life. The PA series is NSF listed and the PO series is not. Otherwise, the PA and PO series are identical. The PO and PA series have mechanical shaft seals of carbon graphite and aluminum oxide or silicon carbide. All the rotary vane pumps made by Fluid-o-Tech have vanes, front bearing, rear bearing and liner made in carbon graphite. The shaft has a mechanical shaft seal. The pump is suitable for water and many water based solutions. By changing the displacement of the internal pump parts different flow rates are available in each size. For example, the small pump is available in flow rates of 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 106, 123 and 140 gallons per hour when connected to a 1725 rpm motor. The small pumps are available with 303 stainless steel housings or forged brass housings, with or without adjustable, internal relief valves. The medium pumps are available in flow rates of 165, 195, 230, 260, 290 and 320 gallons per hour when connected to a 1725 rpm motor. The medium pumps are available with 303 stainless steel or forged brass housings, with or without adjustable, internal relief valves. When higher flow rates are combined with higher outlet pressures, the horsepower rating of the NEMA 48YZ (carbonator) motor may be exceeded. When this occurs, a NEMA 56C frame motor is commonly used. NEMA 48YZ motors are available in ¼ to ¾ horsepower versions (single phase). The NEMA 56C motors are available in ¼ to 2 horsepower (single phase). The large pump is available in a 303 stainless steel housing only and mounts only to the NEMA 56C frame motor. The large pump is available in flow rates of 345, 410, 475, 540, 605, and 670 gallons per hour when operated at 1725 rpm.
ROTARY VANE PUMPS - TM SERIES
The TM Series of rotary vane pumps are available in two different sizes as defined by housing size: small, medium. The pumps' advantages include self priming, almost silent, free of pulsation, positive displacement, and have an extra long service life. The TM series are sealless, magnetically coupled pumps. The pump is suitable for water and many water based solutions such as a glycol-water solution. The pump is also used with specialty heat transfer fluids and refrigerants. By changing the displacement of the internal pump parts different flow rates are available in each size. For example, the small pump is available in flow rates of 25, 45, 65, 80, 115, and 160 gallons per hour with discharge pressure up to 220 psi when connected to a 3600 rpm motor. The small pump is available in flow rates of 10, 18, 26, 35, 50, and 70 gallons per hour with discharge pressure up to 220 psi when connected to a 1750 rpm motor. The small pumps are available with 303 stainless steel housings or forged brass housings, with or without adjustable, internal relief valves. The medium pumps are available in flow rates of 165, 195, 230, 260, 300 and 360 gallons per hour with discharge pressures up to 220 psi when connected to a 1725 rpm motor. The medium pumps are available with 303 stainless steel or forged brass housings, with or without an adjustable, internal relief valves. These pumps have adapters for use with NEMA 56C frame motors and metric frame motors.
ROTARY VANE PUMPS - TMFR SERIES
The TMFR Series of rotary vane pumps are available in one housing size although a second larger housing is in development. The pumps' advantages include self priming, almost silent, free of pulsation, positive displacement, and have an extra long service life. The TMFR series are seal-less, magnetically coupled pumps. The pump’s encapsulated permanent magnet is also the rotor for a special brushless, sensorless dc motor. The motor has a matching electronic controller that accepts 100 volt, 115 volt and 230 volt AC power input. A 24 volt DC version is in development. The unit is capable of variable speed operation. Various available interface cards for the controller allow digital and analog control. The pump is suitable for water and many water based solutions such as a glycol-water solution. The pump is also used with specialty heat transfer fluids and refrigerants. By changing the displacement of the internal pump parts different flow rates are available. With a given displacement, the flow rate may be change by variable motor rpm. The usable rpm range is 1100 to 3500 rpm. The motor power is a maximum of 1/3 horsepower. The TMFR Series flow range is from 10 to 150 gallons per hour at pressures up to 230 psi. The pumps are available with 303 stainless steel or forged brass housings, with or without an adjustable, internal relief valves.
GEAR PUMPS - MG and MGK SERIES
Fluid-o-Tech magnetically coupled gear pumps are available in the MG series (housing machined in 316 stainless steel bar and having 1/8 inch ports) and in the MGK series (investment cast housing in 316 stainless steel having 1/4 inch ports). The pumps' advantages include self priming, quiet, free of pulsation, positive displacement, and have a long service life. The choice between the two series is most often determined by the performance requirements – specifically torque. Since the MGK series is fitted with a larger magnet, it is capable of higher flows, pressures and viscosity. Additionally, the MGK series is available with optional, even higher torque driving magnet made of segmented rare earth magnets rather than the standard ferrite magnet. The MGK series is available in two subgroups: MGK200 series and MGK300 series. The MGK200 series is available with or without internal relief valves. The MGK300 series is not available with relief valve because the housing segments are sealed by o-rings rather than flat PTFE gaskets. The o-ring choices include EPDM, silicon and Viton. For both the MG and MGK series, the gear and bushing sets are available in PTFE or PEEK. The materials are FDA grade. The pumps are NSF listed. The MG and MGK series are compatible with many fluids. The pumps are available with gear sets of different widths including 4 mm, 9 mm, 13 mm and 17 mm. The pumps are to suitable to pressures up to 170 psi depending on the model. The pumps are suitable for flows from 15 gallons per hour to 100 gallons per hour depending on the model number and speed.
GEAR PUMP MOTORS
The Fluid-o-Tech MG series may be mounted to DC brush motors, DC brushless motors, NEMA 56C motors, Metric M56 B14, and Metric M63 B14 motors. The Fluid-o-Tech MGK series may be mounted to NEMA 56C motors, Metric M56 B14, and Metric M63 B14 motors only. Please note that the motor choices are more limited for the MGK series than the MG series. All motors except the NEMA 56C are available through Fluid-o-Tech. The driving magnets and adapters are available through Fluid-o-Tech separately in case the motor is sourced elsewhere.
OSCILLATING PUMPS
The Fluid-o-Tech oscillating pumps are seal-less and compact. The pump uses a coil rather than a motor. The coil is integrated with the pump. The coil accepts 24, 110 or 220 volt AC power. The coil has a built in diode that utilizes the line frequency to pulse the coil. When the coil is pulsed, the magnetic stainless steel piston is drawn back against a stainless steel spring. When the coil pulse ends, the spring pushes the piston back to its starting position. Therefore, the piston reciprocates 60 times per second when the power source is 60 Hz. The piston and pump case are fitted with check valves that operate with each stroke of the piston insuring fluid flow. The pump is self priming and it capable of flows from 1 to 20 gallons per hour and pressures to 180 psi. This is a compact and inexpensive pump.
